Why invest in green short duration bonds?
View fundThe benefits of bonds with a reduced risk profile
Short duration bonds are a great option for investors looking to enhance returns from their cash portfolio and willing to step into the bond market. They provide a better potential return than cash-based investments, while having lower volatility and risk profile than longer-dated bonds.
Green bonds provide a mature and diversified market
The green bond market has significantly matured since the first green bond was issued in 2007. Today it represents a large and well diversified universe with the same potential performance drivers of a conventional bond universe. The short duration green bond segment, at approximately half the size of the entire green bond universe, provides a credible alternative to a conventional short duration strategy.
Transparent reporting and measurement provides credibility
Issuers of green bonds provide detailed updates on the projects they finance and associated impacts. This high level of transparency allows us to choose credible projects that support progress towards a low carbon economy and report back to investors showing how the proceeds are making a genuine impact.
